The kiddos were in bed, I was downstairs flipping through pics on the camera deciding what to blog and realized I haven't done any downstairs Christmas pics! Yes folks...I am still hunting for those extra hours in a day that I so need and wish for! The above pic is from our 'breakfast room' looking into our kitchen. If you click to make it large (I didn't do any fancy frames and such this time so you guys can go ahead and blow them up by clicking on them~ pardon any dust you might see!) The doorway next to the oven leads to the family room which is where we watch tv and hang out by the fire.
The hutch in the breakfast room. Just a few little Santas, a sign and a wonderful candy cane that my friend, Jeni, made and surprised me with last year!
Another shot from the breakfast room...
From the middle of the kitchen looking into my pretty empty breakfast room! We eat in our 'real' dining room. When we were stationed in Germany my hubby sent me and Bryce back MANY times to hang out with my Mom. During one of our trips back he bought a new dining room table that he had made in a German shoppe. I love it so much that we eat on it every day. He thought about this gift and was so pleased with himself... how could I make it into a 'formal' dining room and not enjoy this gift daily?!? So, we have about nothing in our breakfast room except chairs where Bryce sits to put shoes on or to read while I'm cooking. After Christmas on my wish list are 2 comfy chairs to replace those ladder backs!
A little craft my Mom and I made on the kitchen tree~ Star garlands. We made a template, cut a bunch of stars out using 2 different patterns of material, put a piece of batting in the middle for a bit of dimension, hand stitched for that extra homey look around the edges, added a button to the middle and then hung them in strands of 6 or so by threading them all together with one long piece of floss! They are my fav thing on my kitchen tree!
