Cinnamon ornaments
1/2 cup cinnamon
1/2 cup store bought applesauce
(Or, any equal portions of both ingredients depending on the quantity you desire)
Stir together cinnamon and applesauce with a spoon until the dough becomes stiff, then use your hands to create a ball of dough.
Place the ball of dough on a sheet of waxed paper, flatten slightly with your fingers.
Place a second sheet of waxed paper over the top of the dough and roll out dough to about 1/8 inch thick.
Use cookie cutters to cut your ornaments. Don't forget to make a hole in the top to hang it with!
Air dry creations on a waxed paper-covered cookie sheet or a cooling rack for at least 24 hours, flipping them every so often, until they are completely hard.
* These smell so good and last for a few years! The recipe card in the photo is one my Mom gave me in a special birthday gift. And the cookie cutters? My fun and spunky sis in law gave them to me last year. The package said, 'ABC Cookie Cutters' (already been chewed). How funny are those?!? It's been crazy yet again~ I'll be by to 'see' blogs tomorrow! Hugs until then...

Those are the most adorable cookie cutters I have ever seen! And I love the idea of making cinnamon ornaments; I have never heard of this before! I'll have to keep this one in mind for when the kids are home before Christmas, or at the very least for next Christmas. They would love it. Thanks for the directions! :)
I hope you have a good night! :)
Oh the poor Gingerbread man doesn't have a head...They can live without a arm or a leg but I think the little guy really needs his head! (Soooo Cute)

I love that your mom did that for you! I'll have to try this out with the kids. By the way, thanks for the prayers. They are much appreciated
I got my wreaths and things at the dollar tree! But mine ran out of those cute glitter words. I have seen some at WM though.
Hi there, I just tried the cinnamon ornaments out and my dough seemed to be wet to where I couldn't get them off the wax paper. What would you say was wrong? I'm drying them right now, so hopefully once they dry a little I can take them off the paper. We'll see, take care!
I love these! I made a bunch for my tree a few years back, and they stay so good, and still smell way yummy!
