Monkey-ing around in my craft room!

Ian's invite

When my girlfriend Kim's little boy, Ian, had his 5th birthday I made the invites for his party. I had not used photos with an invite before so I had a ton of fun coming up with something for her little superhero!

Ian's 5th invite
The inside (with her number blurred out, incase you're wondering just what that white blob is!)

Ian's 5th invite
I used ribbon, attached under a piece of cardstock to tie each invite closed. Since I used a large red piece on the back to cover my hot glued on ribbon I needed something to jazz it up so... on went some Superhero stickers!

Ian's Invite
Kim's little monkey needed some fun invites for this years party, too, so it was time to come up with another fun idea that was totally different that last years!

Ian's Invites

Another fun way to incorporate a photo of the birthday boy! This years was Ian 'monkey-ing around' on playground monkey bars! I put them in clear envelopes this year, too, with the idea of sprinkling banana Runts in the envelopes!

I forgot to take a photo of the thank yous I made to go with the monkey cards. Darn it. They were yellow and didn't open, so more like a postcard. I found cute blue paper with monkeys and bananas on it and typed out 'Thanks a Bunch' on the front! I thought they would be fun tied to a banana!

Those came out so good. That monkey paper is super fun. I like how you used pictures on the cards...I am going to have to try that.

This is such a cute idea. I love using a kid's photo on the birthday invitation, I honestly never would have thought of it. Thanks for the idea Les! :)

Lots of contractions going on over here...I am still hoping for a baby in the next few days!
