Pressie Time!

take 2
Since I posted invites yesterday I thought I'd do a few pressies today! I love using fabric to wrap gifts instead of regular wrapping paper and gift bags. It makes for just a little something different! And, I always find great deals in fabric store remnant sections!
Party gift
The dollar section at T@rget sometimes has these cute little plastic popcorn containers. They are perfect to use when Bryce is giving a gift certificate as a party gift. What a fun way to jazz a boring envelope up, right?!? In this particular one (it was for one of Bryce's soccer team mates~ their colors are blue and gold) we put a 'pop the popcorn on the cob' thingy in it, too. Other times I've just used normal bags of popcorn and movie theater jumbo candy boxes (from the W@lgreens candy section) to add something extra!

Monkey-ing around in my craft room!

Ian's invite

When my girlfriend Kim's little boy, Ian, had his 5th birthday I made the invites for his party. I had not used photos with an invite before so I had a ton of fun coming up with something for her little superhero!

The inside (with her number blurred out, incase you're wondering just what that white blob is!)

Ian's 5th invite
I used ribbon, attached under a piece of cardstock to tie each invite closed. Since I used a large red piece on the back to cover my hot glued on ribbon I needed something to jazz it up so... on went some Superhero stickers!

Ian's Invite
Kim's little monkey needed some fun invites for this years party, too, so it was time to come up with another fun idea that was totally different that last years!

Ian's Invites

Another fun way to incorporate a photo of the birthday boy! This years was Ian 'monkey-ing around' on playground monkey bars! I put them in clear envelopes this year, too, with the idea of sprinkling banana Runts in the envelopes!

I forgot to take a photo of the thank yous I made to go with the monkey cards. Darn it. They were yellow and didn't open, so more like a postcard. I found cute blue paper with monkeys and bananas on it and typed out 'Thanks a Bunch' on the front! I thought they would be fun tied to a banana!

Stop and Rewind!

New blog pic

I'm guessing that I would win if there was an award for latest Christmas post?!? We had an awesome holiday here and since there are quite a few pics I thought I'd collage a few of my favs. Santa gave Bryce a Guit@r Hero W!i... game which he loves! You should see him rock out!

My creation

Miss Priss had an incredible holiday as well with lots of fun Christmas-y outfits to get dolled up in! She loved the big Santa that greeted guests by our front door and would check him out several times a day.

Blog pic

But the real deal Santa? She was NOT a fan! We found out that she IS a big fan of cheese popcorn though! See her gobbling it up in the above picture? And the silly backpack photo? Well, she woke up from a nap on Bryce's last day of school before the break (hence why her skirt was not back on yet...gotta be comfy for nap time!) and she just had to prance around with his backpack and cr@cs that she found in the laundry room.
Bryce was so good to Caroline over the holiday break and gave her TONS of attention. She misses him during the school days now that he's back to the grind and when we pick him up each day, she greets him with a huge, loud, happy 'Hiiiiiiiii' when he hops in the car!

Blog pic

Santa brought Caroline a ride on B@rbie car. Oooh, how fun this will be come spring and summer time. Look out cul-de-sac neighbors... I'm sure she'll be a wild woman on the go!

I think I am caught up and can get on with some 2009 postings now! Yea me! Finally, right?!? xo

Reading, Reading, Reading....

Fall leaves_ November 2008062

...That is what I'm going to do tomorrow! I am excited to grab a big 'ole mug of java and to come say 'Hi' to all of my blog friends that I've missed so!

The first week of this new year Jas had some days off and Bryce was out of school so we hung out, had family time, and very little computer contact!

Last week Jason was TDY to Seattle and I was sick and down for the count for 6 days, literally! It was the most sick I think I've ever been in my life! I have no clue what was wrong or what I had but I feel 150% better now!

See you gals tomorrow! xo
