Oh No!

We ran an errand today and while I was in the flower shop Jas had the kiddos outside. Caroline took a BIG tumble off of the store steps and landed face first on the cement. OUCH!



My poor little princess in the car after it happened. I tell you~ 1st the black eye and now this? Oh boy! Bryce was so good and kind to her. It really tore him up to see her hurt and so upset.




So, when we got home I cleaned it all up and put Neosporin on it. Her hair is getting long-ish and I didn't want it to stick to the boo-boo so I put the pink bow in her hair. Next thing I knew Caroline was bringing me bow after bow, wanting them in her hair. (You can't see from the pics, but we even had them on the back of her head!)




Now isn't this an interesting fashion statement from the little Diva?!?




Don't you know guys~ M&M's will put a smile back on anyone's boo-boo face!



And this pic above... Oh my gosh... What was I thinking? On Thanksgiving Eve before we played hostess of all nights, I got the brainiac idea to clean out my lazy susan! It was waaaaay overdue. I'm pleased to say I got it done and it looks great now. The trick will be to see how long it will stay in the new and improved state!
I've done some Christmas decorating so I'll have some new posts this week! I'm excited to sit with a good cup of java and peek at all of your blogs and play 'catch up' during Sunday or Mondays "Caroline nap time"! See you all then!!! xo

Overdue Iowa Pics!

The weekend before Veteran's Day we treked to Jason's hometown in Iowa for a weekend visit. Bryce made fast friends with Angie's dog and Caroline was happy to sit on her lap and visit with the little snowball, too! So, it seems the trick to get our 'anti anyone but Mommy and Daddy' girl to sit still and not fuss is to bribe her with a pooch... She is a hot mess! And, a trip to Iowa just isnt complete without a ride on a John Deere!

With Jason heading TDY to Japan and Guam for a few weeks this Sunday, I had him get busy two weeks ago getting Christmas trees out! Remember my last post about Caroline's music class? I snapped these pics when we came home from that last fall session. She loved the ornies on the tree in the playroom. About 99% of them are ones that my Mom had bought for Bryce, Jason and myself. Boy there are some funny stories behind them, too. Like the farmer, football, school bus, policeman, firetruck... I will now be on the hunt to buy some girly ones for Miss Priss to add to the tree. I can only imagine the funny ones Mom would have gotten for her!



Hmmm~ a sports lover or a future cheerleader on our hands? Either way, she keeps going for the football ornament! Jason sure likes that!

Got Earplugs?!?

Caroline and I LOVED her fall music session with Miss Krista and we can't wait for the winter session to start in January!




As you can see, Miss Priss loves it so much she heads to the pots and pans drawer to pull out her 'drums' as I put dishes away each morning! Krista~ maybe she'll learn to 'Freeze' in the next session! ;)



So, what do you do when you LOVE your kiddos class and want to take a little somethin' somethin' to the teacher on the last day? You make a fun card and tuck a gift certificate into the front of it! My girlfriend, Jeni, gave me one when I needed a pick me up and I loved it! So, I've been doing it ever since!

Bust out the candles...

because my kitchen smells FUNKY!




When your dishwasher fails to tell you (like it's supposed to) that you're totally out of rinse aid and your glasses and silverware get soap spots on them... bust out the vinegar!



Yes, your kitchen might smell like a London fish and chip shop, but the end results are fan-freakin'- tastic! Whenever my glasses and such need a good sprucing up I grab a 2 pack of vinegar from Sams, fill the sink with that and cold water to top it off, and in go the glasses and silverware first. They soak overnight. The next day I use handy dandy long gloves to take them out and pop them back in the dishwasher that started this whole mess, for a hot rinse. Then comes round #2 with anything else in my cabinets that might need some help. In this case it was some of the everyday Denby dishes and Polish Pottery coffee mugs. Easy peasy! But, be sure to have candles standing by!

Where are you MR. SUNSHINE?

The sunshine and 70's of a few weeks ago are long behind us in the Midwest I do believe! The last day of the mild weather Miss Priss and I played outside in the front yard leaves before picking up Bryce from school one day...

Playing 'Peek-A-Boo' through the trunk! Has it moved on to winter and 30's in your neck of the world or is it still mild and fall-ish? I thought I would really miss fall this year but I think I'm ready for roaring fires, hot cocoa and the spirit of Christmastime! XO

Some 'Firsts'

About a week and a half ago Jason was on his first official ORI with the IG team. Bryce and I thought this was something well worth celebrating, so on the day he was due home we filled his car with helium balloons and silver confetti (it was parked in long term parking on base and I had the spare key...bet he takes it with him from now on!). The best part? We hunkered down in the parking lot, spy mode, to see his reaction. Unbeknown to us, all of the IG team who parked in long term parking (there were a LOT of them) were bused to the lot and ALL of them saw Jason's car! He took all the balloons out and tried to stuff them in the trunk...no luck. He just rode home with them all in there! Hilarious, aren't we?!? I haven't laughed that hard in ages!



Another first that week while Jason was away was Miss Priss eating her 1st real apple that wasn't cut up. She loved it!




And the worst first? Caroline got her first black eye, courtesy of a side table in our bedroom. I tried to use a 'boo boo bear' on the spot...tried an ice pack wrapped in a washcloth....nothing worked. What calmed her down you ask? Sitting in her high chair and playing with the bag of ice.




A week later and still black and blue under her left eye. My little bruiser! On a side note~ just a week and a half ago it was mild enough for tees and capris. Those outfits have had to be switched out of her closet to now be replaced with cute sweaters and such. I don't like to be cold, but I do love the winter time!

Nearing the end of Fall in our house...

Oh how I LOVE the colors we get on our trees in the fall! Here is a tree in our backyard on a windy day last week...



But boy do I DISLIKE how many pretty colored leaves we have at raking time in the fall!

9 trees + TONS of leaves = LOTS of raking and bagging!

While Jason was tdy last week our across the street retired neighbor rode over on his riding mower to mulch the leaves for me. What sweetie he is!



We bought cups, filled them with goodies, and popped them into baggies for Bryce to pass to his classmates during their class Halloween party on the 29th. (Yes, I'm way behind blogging folks!) The paper bags had apples and chocolates in them (thank you Marcy for helping me out by running to the store to pick up the chocolates... You're a lifesaver!) I attached a recipe card I made to the front of each bag. And shoot. I forgot to take a pic of the final product. It was the pumpkin dip recipe that Carrie shared with bloggers. Yummy stuff!

The funniest part of this photo? Me carrying all of this up the steps to Bryce's class that day ( he's on the top floor) with Miss Priss in tow because Jason was out of town! But, she and I managed and Bryce passed out the bags to his teachers and some other school staffers.



I stayed busy keeping the candy stocked this fall because the spiders did not seem to scare little hands away from the goods! Alright, alright...they didn't scare me away either! My butt and hips are proof to that! ;)



The kids were great so I didn't even have to bust out my witches hat. But, I had it on hand in the front hallway in case I needed it!



This little pumpkin man was in a care package for Halloween from my Mom when we lived in Germany a few years ago. Love him!

I've started to put away fall decs since my hubby has some upcoming traveling to do, starting next Tuesday. I need a bit of help getting Christmas down from the attic because I'm not so good at balancing with big tubs on those rickety stairs! Wait 'till you see my next post. Man is this house a wreck and looking like a fall store!

Prissy Halloween Girl!

Here 'Prissy' is in one of her funky Halloween outfits before the big day. Yes, I'm blogging totally backwards, as this should have come before the last one. I shouldn't let myself get this far behind next time!

Super Busy, Lazy, on Vacation???

Where have I been since Halloween?!? Not much of the above... just here and enjoying the kiddos while Jason was TDY. I just soaked up every second of having fun with the kids and getting them all to myself! We had some AWESOME days where the temps were in the mid 70's. So, uploading pics was the last thing I was thinking of! It hit me today though that I haven't even blogged Halloween yet! Oops!



Since Jason was out of town the kiddos and I headed over to Jeff & Marcy's house (Caroline's Godparents) to trick or treated the most fun way I've ever done it! Golf carts, happy kids everywhere, a cooler in our cart with adult beverages ;), hot dogs at some houses, music coming from homes and golf carts alike, people waving and chatting with each other while stopped on the carts while kids ran from house to house... What a FUN Halloween night Jeff, Marcy, Tierney and Blake! Thanks so much guys! Jason doesn't know what he missed, does he?!?

What a HOOT!

My girlfriend Belinda's most incredibly sweet hubby (luv ya Jeffrey!) got each of us an AWESOME 'Flip Video'. This was the 1st video I made with it~ waaaay back in September. Yes, I'm very slow at trying to figure out new technology so it took me this darn long to attempt to upload anything online! Here is Bryce performing a goofy (and great bribery for when he's older might I add) 'Friday song' from his math class...



Wait a second... Now it's hitting me... Did he say "Math class" at the end? This doesn't look or sound like the math I did as a kid!?!? ;) Hey Marcy, Kim, Tammy... see if your kiddos can sing you this song from school and get your videos ready!
