All girls and one boy!

Bryce was out of school on Monday so the kiddos and I went to my girlfriend Christelle's house for a visit. We met years go when I worked on base at the Youth Center. Another girlfriend from the Youth Center, Michelle, was there to visit, too. I don't get to see them nearly as much as I'd like to but when we do it's always so fun to catch up and have girly time! Girls~ can't wait to do it again!
From left to right: Bryce holding Miss Priss Caroline, Aleigh (Christelle's niece whom I've watched go from toddler to a grown up very sweet and kind 13 now!) holding Christelle's little girl, Ella (who will be 1 in April) and Taylor (Michelle's 9 year old sweetie pie, whom I've also watched from Michelle being pregnant and me patting her belly to now!) holding her little cutie patootie sister, Sydney (who will be 2 in June and did not want her picture taken at this moment!)

It's funny to see the progression~ Ella reaching out to check out Caroline and Taylor helping Sydney get used to the idea of a picture of all of them being taken...

To my munchkin being finished with the photo op!

This was a picture taken when we all got together in late July 2007. My how they've all grown! Time flies when you're having fun, right girls?!? Now, someone needs to have a boy so Bryce can have a male comrade!!! ;)

Happy (late...oops) Easter!

Bryce & Caroline got to visit the Easter bunny the Saturday before Easter. Many of you have seen 1st hand Caroline's "stranger danger" as we call it, in full swing. Jason and I prepped the bunny and the helpers and stood back and held out breath as they snapped a few pics. I took 2 with our camera and mine are horrible. The ones they got are actually pretty good! And, no tears from Miss Priss. Yea!

The Easter bunny comes to our house the night before and hides all of our baskets after everyone is asleep. He always hides them downstairs but he's running out of hiding places so next year he might venture upstairs, too! This year Bryce's was on the front seat of my car. He was getting pretty nervous that he might have gotten skipped after finding all 3 of our baskets and not his own! We had to give him some clues about hearing the car alarm go off in the middle of the night and not knowing why, etc... Here he is with Caroline's basket. You can see how interested she was with the whole process as she 'runs' away. (and run she does~ boy you should see her scoot in her walker!)

Bryce checks out his goodies. His most favorite thing? The marshmallow gun he got! That silly Easter bunny forgot to get marshmallows to go with it and I forgot to get them at the commissary today, so I am not very high on his list of likeable folks as of now. When Jason gets home I will run out for some so we can test it out!

Caroline got some baby girl sunglasses and a swimsuit cover up, which is just adorable in such a smallish size! That bunny sure helped us to get a few things ready for our summer vacation to Florida with the goodies in her basket and Bryce's water toys!

Bryce and Caroline Easter morning after the house basket hunt. She was not thrilled about sitting for a photo so this is the best I got.

Springtime at last!

Happy Spring Everyone!
Bryce took advantage of a nice sunny and breezy Thursday afternoon on our front porch. He was out of school on Thursday and Friday so we took a trip to the library to stock him up for one of his favorite pastimes! He got a lot of chapter books and some fun hardback books. Boy does he enjoy reading. I was the same way as a child and teen. Jason said B definitely got that gene from me ;)

We have a chalkboard on a door in our kitchen. I jotted a few things down on Thursday night so I would remember them for Friday. See what B wrote? I guess high on his list was to play outside! Who can blame him... it was 68 degrees and a beautiful spring day!

Miss Priss got a big girl car seat a few weeks back and I found a pic on the camera I forgot I had taken. I can't believe she has already outgrown her infant carrier. They sure do grow up way too quickly.

Cookie Monster!

Miss Priss sure does L-O-V-E her baby teething cookies! As you will see, they are a big mess maker so she chows down after dinner and before her bath time!

Yummy, Yummy, Yummy!

She's likely thinking, 'Mom, can you just let me eat in peace?', right?!?!

Ewww ~ sticky, sticky, sticky mess!

They sure are tasty guys! xoxo Love, Caroline

Happy St Patrick's Day!

First of all... Happy 1/2 Birthday to my birthday buddy, Patrick today!
Angie, I got your card today. Jason and I thought that was a riot! Neither of us knew that they really made 1/2 birthday cards! A few of you know, but my 'real' birthday 6 months ago was kind of a dud in the cake and candle department. It was the 1st year that I didn't get to blow out a candle on my birthday. Jason felt horrible, even though I tried to tell him it was really o.k. Well, to my humongous surprise, he and Bryce walked in after dinner with a cake that said 'Happy 1/2 Birthday Leslie' with 2 candles on it! How fun! What a wonderful hubby and son I have! You guys rock!
Bryce loved getting to wear a St Patty's day shirt to school today and thought it was really neat that Caroline got to get into the holiday spirit, too! I snapped a few pictures of them before bath time (with Jason helping me illicit some giggles in the background). There were times when both Caroline and Bryce were really cracking up at whatever he was doing behind me. You can see it in their faces in some of the pics. I snapped a lot and these are just a few... I couldn't choose a favorite!

What a funny face she's making!

We hope you all remembered to wear green so you didn't get pinched! xoxo

Bryce's Blessing Cup Dinner

Bryce's First Communion class had their 'blessing cup dinner' on Sunday night at St Clare church. Each child got to decorate their own 'blessing cup', which will be fired and glazed. Bryce thought this was the coolest thing and can't wait to see it all finished!

He's really into his art work!

Bryce and some of his 2nd grade buddies at the blessing cup dinner.
I told them if they took one 'real' photo I'd take a silly photo of them!

The children were surprised by the staff with a large envelope filled with letters from loved ones telling them how special and loved they are. They were instructed to go find a comfy quiet spot in the church to sit with their Mom and Dad to read their letters together. Miss C was getting very tired by this point and her 'stranger danger' crying had really worn her out so... bottle time! Thank you to PaPa, Great Gma Eighmey, Jim, Judy, Stephen, Ang and Maryann for your letters. Bryce really was surprised and loved that part of the evening.
And~ Bryce had a soccer game that afternoon before the blessing cup dinner. Of course, Caroline donned her 'Go Bryce' shirt to cheer on her most favorite player! She was his good luck charm again because he scored a goal! Go Bryce!

Monday morning story

O.K., so here is how our Monday morning started in the Eighmey household this week...

Caroline woke me up at the crack of dawn. Actually, it was predawn! I woke Bryce up at about 7:15am to get ready for school. I had already set his school uniform, socks, undies, belt~ all on his bed, toothbrush was out and ready, etc... I took Caroline back downstairs so Bryce could get moving at his own pace (he is not a morning person for the first 5 minutes or so, so we usually steer clear). I was just sitting down on the couch to feed Miss Priss a bottle, when I heard a scream from upstairs followed by, 'Mom, come up here QUICK! Mom, hurry. You've got to come up here'. Sensing the panic in his voice I ran up the stairs with Caroline in tow. Here is the scene when I got into his room~ Bryce standing in ONLY his socks and his AQUATIC (yes, that's right, his aquatic) frog is in the corner of his room, just sitting there. I scan over to his tank and the lid is almost all the way on (we didn't know this thing could JUMP out of there so we left it about 1/2" open to put his food in). Jason was supposed to use his special drill bit to put holes in the lid before he left on his TDY but it didn't happen, we got busy. So, back to Monday morning. Bryce is standing there, in only socks so already I'm trying not to laugh because this scene is already way too crazy, and yelling at me in tears to pick up the frog and put it back in its tank. Well, that little slimy thing really creeps me out and unbeknown to Bryce, I'm actually kind of frightened of it. (Jason can attest to this... He's laughed as he's seen me struggle through cleaning its tank!) So, I'm yelling back at Bryce to just pick it up and pop it back in the tank. He's crying and saying he can't. Now Caroline is frightened by all the loud noise and is crying, too. Great! So, I grab Bryce's right arm and tell him he's just got to do it, because I for sure can't, I've got the baby (lucky I did have her because I truly don't think I could have touched that little guy!). He reluctantly lets me push his arm down by the frog who now is starting to jump away. Bryce finally gets a hold of it and puts it back into his tank. Holy smokes! What an ordeal for a Monday morning! Upon further looking at the frog, once he was safely back in his tank and swimming about, we could see he had a little red patch on his belly. Aw, I think the little guy got a carpet burn. Needless to say, I can't wait for Jason to get home from his TDY tonight so he can fix the lid!

Little Miss T-R-O-U-B-L-E!

WHO, ME?!?
I was making my bed the other morning and had an almost empty (thankfully!) roll of paper towels on the chair in my room that is by Miss Priss in this photo. My plan was to clean the bathroom after making my bed. Imagine my surprise when I turned around to see she had scooted backwards, grabbed the roll and torn the 2 sheets on it to bits!
What a hot little mess she is! Of course, I had to take a quick video clipit since I had the camera in my hands. Here it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iJg7vaDePSY

Busted in B's room!

I set Caroline on Bryce's bed last night while I got his school uniform ready for today and she b-lined for his stuffed soccer ball. Doesn't she have that 'uh-oh, I'm caught red handed' look on her face?!? She kept grabbing at the balls nose and looking up at me as if she was doing something naughty and she knew it. We might have our hands full when she's older if she's thinking she's already testing me!
And, after a bit, she realized she was allowed to touch it and went for it! Here's a little clipit of Miss Priss in action. Look closely and you can see her smile and make her funny face when she sees me taping her! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=32UrThQEZ-Y

Our soccer player and his Numero Uno fan!

Caroline is Bryce's biggest littlest fan in the stands when he plays indoor soccer! She wears her 'Go Bryce' shirt and watches as the boys dash up and down the field. She loves the action and noise there it seems! Bryce is having a good time playing with his friends. The last session was his 1st time playing indoor soccer. It sure is different than the traditional outdoor sport... The ball is still in play off of the side walls so there is TONS of running. My goodness is he getting a workout! He's playing on the 'Meyer Honda' team~ You can see bits of it on his shirt and I'm sure some of you might wonder what in the world it says! This was taken last night after his late afternoon game.
BRYCE SCORED A GOAL IN THE GAME, TOO! He said Caroline was his good luck charm! Awww.

This post is for you, Maryann!

Jason's sister, Maryann, LOVES and I mean LOVES carmex! So much so, in fact, that I think her bridal shower or bachelorete bouquet was made of carmex tubes, right Mare?!? So...when I was getting Miss Priss' breakfast ready the other day and she was messing around with a carmex tube I had to snap a pic for you, Mare, because I was cracking up! Everyone else will see this post and think 'what the heck', but the Eighmeys will get it! Remember when Bryce sucked on your carmex tube, when he was just a little guy on a visit to Iowa, and got it all slobbery? I think you were pretty grossed out and likely tossed that one out chica! ;) xo

What a F-U-N week!

One of my oldest childhood friends (from way back in England days), Tania, came to stay with us this week! Jason was here for one day to visit with Tania before going to Travis AFB for a TDY. It was great to see Tania and to catch up, do a little paraffin dip on our hands, and just to be around her~ She is the spunkiest gal ever! Tania was in the AF for 12 years and just got out. She's now going to work in Alaska for the summer season and then travel around the world for the next year with her friend. She is an amazing woman and we (especially Bryce, who has always loved her travel stories ever since she started telling them to him when he was just a little guy in Germany on her visits with us) can't wait to hear all about her upcoming travels. We love you and miss you lots already, Tania! P.S. Bryce LOVED the note you left for him on his chalkboard! Way to cute ;)

My little munchkins last night after church. They are so fun to be around! Happy, happy, happy kiddos!

Bryce was playing outside with the neighbor boys (bike riding, basketball, etc...) and I perched Caroline by the front storm door so she could see them go by.

Something out there caught her eye. Maybe one of the seemingly millions of squirrels we have running about. Oh yes, spring time is almost upon us! The 4 of us can't wait!

She loved her vantage point! Can't you tell from her funky grin and dimples?!? Awww...she loves watching anything her big brother does! Hope everyone is ready for Monday and is all caught up on the 'spring ahead sleep loss' of last night by tomorrow morning! xoxo
